Use a DVI to HDMI cable.

If your HD TV has a HDMI input you can get a cable that goes from DVI to HDMI. Unfortunately a DVI to HDMI cable won't be able to carry audio out from your laptop computer to the TV, but there is a solution for that below.

|
Connect the DVI end of the cable to your laptop computer and the HDMI end to your TV. DVI to HDMI cables come in various lengths. Select a cable that is long enough to comfortably reach from your laptop to your TV.

Since the DVI to HDMI cable cannot carry audio from your laptop computer to the TV you will need to decide which of the following options will work for you.
- You can use the laptop's speakers.
- If your TV has RCA audio inputs paired with the HDMI input then a 3.5mm to RCA audio cable will do the job.
- If you have a home theater you can use a 3.5mm to RCA audio cable to play your laptop's audio.
Consult the user's manual for your TV and home theater to decide what your best option is.
